ABOUT the ERC PROTOCOL
ERC Australia was founded to make it easier for small to medium enterprises to create and communicate climate action.
Using the ERC Protocol's five-stage climate program, we have adopted short and longer-term climate change programs, and use the MyERC dashboard to track the impact of our carbon-reducing initiatives.
ISW has already sponsored projects that remove carbon emissions and adjusted our own operations to further reduce the emissions we produce. Our latest initiative was to install solar panels at our Hobart headquarters to power our business on renewable energy, achieving Stage 4 in the ERC Protocol.
Our Emission Reduction Plan:
We joined the ERC Protocol Program in June 2023.
We have sponsored Tasmanian Forest Growth, located in Northern Tasmania, this forestry carbon project draws down an extra 200,000 tonnes of carbon emissions from the atmosphere by growing trees for an extra 10 years. Impact: 20 tonnes removed.
We have reduced our own emissions with changes to our operations, including:
Switching our paper and office supplies to carbon-neutral products.
New policies to allow office employees to work from home one day per week to reduce travel-related emissions.
Replace all office lighting with LEDs.
Installing recycling bins to reduce landfill contributions by 20%.
Replacing electrical equipment with 5-star energy rating alternatives.
We have already installed solar panels at our Hobart office, with plans to switch to more renewable energy sources in other locations by 2030.
Some of our ERC Protocol initiatives are still underway, such as completing transitioning to greener office supplies and replacing further electrical items with alternatives that consume less energy.
To achieve the final Stage 5 of the ERC Protocol, ISW will commit to completing all initiatives and maintaining these stages for 5 years.
